Il gruppo folkloristico e corale “Lou Tintamaro de Cogne” è nato nell’autunno del 1957, fondato sul principio della conservazione del patrimonio culturale unico e caratteristico del paese di Cogne.
I canti e i balletti dal ritmo allegro, a volte burlesco, sono accompagnati dai tamburi -“tambur”- e dalle fisarmoniche, che armonizzano una cornice genuina e vivace. Il costume, che riproduce fedelmente quello portato dai cogneins dal 1600 fino alla metà del secolo scorso, è composto in gran parte da pesante “drap” nero e lana, ornato da dettagli rossi e verdi che richiamano i colori del casato dei Savoia.
Lou Tintamaro, cuore musicale di Cogne, continua a trasmettere con passione, attraverso balli, canti, suoni e colori, il messaggio culturale antico ed originale dei cogneins.

Les rhytmes joyeux et parfois burlesques des chants et des dances, sont souvent accompagnés par les tambours et par les accordéons. Le costume, qui reproduit fidèlement les habits portés par les cogneins du 1600 jusqu’a la moitié du siècle passé, est fait en grande partie de “drap” noir et de laine avec des détails rouges et verts qui rappellent les couleurs de la famille Savoye.
Lou Tintamaro continue a transmettre avec passion, a travers danses, chants, sons et couleurs, l’ancien et originel message culturel des cogneins.
The folkloric group ‘Lou Tintamaro of Cogne‘ was born in the autumn of 1957. It was founded upon the principle of protection of the unique cultural heritage of the village.
The search for authenticity and tradition is the guiding principle of Lou Tintamaro. Indeed, the repertoire is the result of a thorough research of most antique and traditional songs. Chants and dances characterized by a joyful rhythm, sometimes even burlesque, are accompanied with drums -‘tambur‘-. Their costume, which faithfully reproduces how people from Cogne -‘Cogneins‘- used to dress from the beginning of 17th till mid-20th century, is made most of heavy black wool tissue -‘drap‘- and plain white wool, decorated with red and green ribbons that remind us of the Royal House of Savoy.
Lou Tintamaro, the musical heart of Cogne, continues to pass on with passion the antique cultural message of the ‘Cognein‘ people through dances, songs, sounds and colours.
